Who We Are

LAFABA Foundation (La Famille Bamiléké Foundation) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Raleigh, North Carolina, founded by Cameroonian immigrants to uplift communities both locally in the Triangle area and abroad in Cameroon. Rooted in cultural pride and community solidarity, the foundation is committed to promoting education, leadership, and social development while celebrating and preserving Cameroonian heritage.

The foundation’s vision is to empower the next generation through access to education, leadership opportunities, and essential health and social services. LAFABA believes that by investing in people—especially youth—lasting change can be created both within diaspora communities and in under-resourced regions of Cameroon.

LAFABA’s key programs and activities include youth leadership development workshops, educational support and scholarships for students in rural Cameroonian villages, community-building events in North Carolina, cultural preservation initiatives, and targeted fundraising campaigns to expand healthcare access and improve learning infrastructure. Through volunteer mobilization and donor engagement, the foundation bridges communities and fosters sustainable impact across continents.
