Who We Are
Ryan Smith
Ryan Smith is Vector Law Group’s resident practicing appellate lawyer. Ryan Smith has handled numerous appeals, from multiple North Carolina courts over his many years of practice. Ryan obtained his undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis where joined the Phi Betta Kappa invitational honors fraternity. Ryan received his Juris Doctorate from Wake Forest. Ryan began as a trial attorney, expanded into the realm of appellate practice, and continues to refine his practice before trial and appellate courts. With Vector Law Group, Ryan is the lead appellate attorney, providing zealous advocacy to every client in every case.
Ryan’s clienteles are just as diverse as his civil practice. Ryan successfully defended the world-famous musician, Ja Rule in a $100 million-dollar class-action lawsuit concerning the Fyre Festival. Ryan skillfully got all 13 claims against Ja Rule dismissed. Ryan also successfully defended Ja-Rule against when plaintiffs attempted to have the dismissal thrown out. Ever the appellate attorney, Ryan carefully crafted an opposing motion, which the judge agreed with, allowing the dismissal to stand, and denying plaintiff’s motion to reconsider.
