What to Expect at Peace Lutheran
We welcome many guests each year for the Divine Service—most during the Summer vacation season. Many return to Peace on their next trip to the Northwoods.
When you enter the church, you can expect to be warmly greeted.
For worship, the congregation uses the liturgy—the different settings of the Divine Service—and hymns from Lutheran Service Book. The order of service is printed out in two sizes of bulletins each week—standard print and large print.
We celebrate the Lord’s Supper on the first, third, and fifth Sundays of the month. On the second and fourth Sundays of the month, we sometimes use the Matins liturgy.
If it is a Communion Sunday, we kindly ask guests to introduce themselves to the pastor. He greets members and visitors as they arrive for worship.
Because of what the Bible teaches about the spiritual care for and the unity of those who commune together, Peace practices “close Communion.” As part of his spiritual care responsibilities, pastor will encourage guests to read through the “Communion Statement” and the “Spiritual Care Statements for Self-Examination” that are printed in the bulletin as they prepare for worship.
A common cup and individual cups are used during the distribution of Holy Communion.
After the service, there is a brief time for announcements followed by some light refreshments and conversation for both members and guests in the Fellowship Hall.
We look forward to meeting you!
